WordPress is a fabulous tool, it makes blogging easy or intricate – whichever you prefer. There are many pros, and a few cons. One of the biggest cons: software vulnerability. It’s important to keep your WordPress up to date, because the writers are WordPress are aware of the fact that hackers take advantage of these “holes” – so they constantly put out updates.
Updating WordPress is quick & easy. Just login to the admin area, the link will be similar to www.example.com/blog/wp-admin – and if there’s an update, you’ll see the notification at the top. It looks like this:

It’s always advisable to backup your database before updating, and you can do that from your cPanel in a few clicks. After that, just click that “Please Update Now” link and you’ll see something that looks like this:

When you see this, click UPDATE NOW. You’ll see WordPress work her magic, and you’re updated. This is a VERY simple step that could save you a lot of trouble down the line.
