I hadn�t come unglued for quite some time and, I suppose, I was due. Because when the guy in the TV ad said, "Satisfaction guaranteed. Or your money back!" � I lost it.

"If my satisfaction is guaranteed," I shouted, "then what�s with the "or" part? A guarantee is supposed to be an absolute. It�s supposed to be without fail. There should be nothing like "or your money back" after a guarantee. All the "or" does is tell people that the guarantee really isn't a guarantee. It weakens the whole premise of a guarantee. It waters down the very thing you�re attempting to lure your customers with!"

At this point, I realized that my sudden outburst had scared the cat who plowed through the popcorn bowl on his way out of the room at Mach I. As my wife and two kids retrieved popcorn from all parts of the room, it was strongly suggested that I give the subject of guarantees some additional thought � in another room.

Fine. Here�s my admittedly philosophical thinking. Time was, a guarantee was a solemn edict that meant something. Today, it's almost a clich้'. Let's say you're guaranteeing "On-time" delivery. The very nano-second your delivery is late, the guarantee is null and void � proving that your guarantee really wasn't a guarantee. That makes you a liar.

Part of the problem with guarantees is the wording � and the fact that people are attempting to guarantee that over which they have no control.

When developing a guarantee, think in terms of what you control. I can guarantee I'll give you your money back. For example, "If you�re not satisfied, I�ll give you your money back... guaranteed." In this case I�m guaranteeing I�ll give the money back. I�m not, however, guaranteeing your satisfaction. How can I? I have no idea what satisfaction means to you. One person's satisfaction is still another person's longing.

See the difference in the way the next two are written:
1) On time delivery guaranteed - or your money back.
2) On time delivery or your money back - guaranteed.

The first one guarantees on time delivery, as though I have control over mother nature, mechanical failure and a million other things that can prevent a delivery from taking place on time and ruin my reputation. With the second, I�m guaranteeing your money back. The first may ultimately prove to be an empty promise, which discredits me and gives my client or customer no reason to believe in my "faux guarantee" in the future. The second has teeth. It's strong. It sounds good. But most importantly, I�m guaranteeing what I will do.

If you offer a guarantee, or are in the process of developing one, read it carefully to determine exactly what it is that you�re guaranteeing. Ask yourself, "Do I have control over what I�m guaranteeing?"

You see, I can�t guarantee my family uninterrupted t.v. time, because apparently, I can�t control myself. And I can�t guarantee they�ll let me back in, even if I make more popcorn. But I can offer them this, "If you let me back in, I�ll make more popcorn. Guaranteed!"

The idea of a recession is usually a scary thought. I mean all the market prices start dropping. Investments are losing there value.

It's especially painful, if you just started investing, you don't have any gains to give back. You're giving back you actual starting capital. Yuck!

But here's the thing, it doesn't have to be that way. It really doesn't. You don't have to be a slave of the market.

Now it helps if you've really invested well. That can guide and hold your portfolio well. But let's say that you haven't invested well.

And as the prices start to drop, you're feeling it.

What do you do?

I'd recommend seeing if the stocks you are in are optionable. If they are, then great. This will be easy for you.

If you sell a put on your stocks that is at-the-money and about 6 six months out, you've just eliminated all your downside risk for six months. If at any time in the next six months, you want to sell, just do it. You've got full protection.

But there is a catch. The put costs money, and you don't want to spend money, right?

So, sell calls against your stocks. By selling calls against your stocks, you're collecting premium that can pay for the put.

Of course, it will take several months to pay off the put, but it is worth it.

Oh, and if you get called out of your stock, you can just buy back in. If you only sell out-of-the-money calls, you minimize that risk, plus you will make good money if you are called out as well.

Offer a 100% money-back refund. Don�t charge a �re-stocking fee.� Don�t withhold the taxes. Give every penny back.

Set the length of the guarantee at infinity. Offer a lifetime guarantee. Agree to take back the merchandise at any time.

Offering this kind of guarantee will hurt. You�ll be afraid of people taking advantage. And some will. You�ll be afraid of the pain to your bottom line, and rightly so.

Will My Blog Make Money?

Many blogs won't make any money. Alan Meckler and Weblogs, Inc.�s take is that 99.99% of blogs just aren�t going to make money.

That may be true for a few reasons:

Banks are considered conservative in nature, very few banks go bankrupt, they make millions� right! Would you say that they have a successful business model? If so, let�s look at what they invest their money in� is it stocks? Mutual funds or GICs? No, they are in the business of lending money!

Just ask yourself, would the bank lend you 100% money to invest in the stock market or mutual funds secured only by the investment you purchased? Here's the truth. It's damn hard to make money with penny stocks. Damn hard. You will lose far more than you will ever win.

So if you approach this like a traditional investor, you just put some money in the "pennies", and lose your shirt.

You did it wrong. If you had done it right, you would at least be at break-even.

Here's how to do it right. Take the money you want to invest in penny stocks and divide it into ten pieces.

Nine of those ten pieces is to go into a safe investment like government bonds or the like. The idea is that 9/10ths of you money can make itself back if you lose the remaining 1/10th.

And if you strike it rich, good for you. You deserve it. You don't need a lot of money in penny stocks to really get great returns if the stock does well. Think about it like this $200 can buy a lot of shares that are prices low. If the shares are at $0.10, you can buy 2000 shares. Even a little move, will make you good money because of the number of shares that you own.

And if you lose it all, then you can't trade another penny stock until the 9/10ths is back in your possession from the safe investment.

That way, even if you're the worst penny stock picker in the world, you'll walk away with just as much money as you started with.

Vertical Spreads - Vertical Call Spread and Vertical Put Spread Value

Any spread that has intrinsic value is considered in-the-money.
How can you identify the value of a vertical call spread or a
vertical put spread? Compare the stock price to the strike
prices.

Look at any vertical call spread. If the stock price is above
the lower strike of the spread, then the spread is in-the-money.
For example, in the Feb. 50 � 55 call spread, if the stock is
trading at $52.00, then the spread would be in-the-money by $2.
This is because if the spread expired today, the Feb. 50 calls
would finish $2.00 in-the-money. The Feb. 55 calls would finish
worthless because they are out-of-the-money. The spread,
however, would be in-the-money with a value of $2.00.

The rule is similar for determining whether or not a spread is
out-of-the-money. If the stock price is lower then the lower
strike of the spread, then the spread is out-of-the-money.
Again, looking at the Feb. 50 � 55 call spread, if the spread
expired today and the stock price closed at $48.00, (lower than
the lower strike) then the spread would be out-of-the-money,
thus the spread will be out-of-the-money. And, of course, if the
stock is trading at the same price as the lower strike price,
then the spread will be considered at-the-money.

For vertical put spreads, a spread is determined to be
in-the-money if the stock price is lower than the higher of the
two strikes of the spread. For example, let�s look at the Sept.
40 � 45 put spread. If the stock were to close at $42.00 on
expiration day, the Feb. 45 put would end up in-the-money and
worth $3.00. The Feb 40 puts would be out-of-the-money creating
a $3.00 intrinsic value for the spread. Since the spread has an
intrinsic value, it is in-the-money.

A vertical put spread is considered to be out-of-the-money if
the stock price is higher than the higher strike of the spread.
So, going back to our Sept. 40 � 45 put spread example, if the
stock was to close at a price of $46.00 (higher than the higher
strike) then both the Sept. 40 and 45 put will expire worthless.
Thus the spread will be worthless and out-of-the-money.

A vertical put spread is considered at-the-money when the stock
price is equal to the higher strike price.

Tracking and testing is critically important in everything you do online. Everything.

Why? Think about this. Let us imagine that you are just starting out and you have $1000 to spend on advertising. Now, if you spend all of that $1000 on one source, you might get it all back, you might lose it all, or you might double your money (or anything in between).

Now, if instead you were to split that advertising budget up ten ways, so that you were to spend $100 on each of 10 different sources of advertising, you would probably have a more predictable result. Some of the $100 campaigns would make you your money back, some would double your money, and on some, you would lose your money.

On average, though, you might break even. But breaking even will not make you money online. If you do not track and test, you will have no idea which campaigns made you money and which lost you money.

However, if you were to track the individuals who came to your web site by their respective advertising source, and you were to log which visitors bought from you, you would be able to isolate the campaigns that made you money and which do not.

Then, you could re-run the campaigns that made you money, and eliminate the ones that do not. Or, you could make changes to the campaigns to experiment with different results � but none of that is possible if you are not tracking.

Don't Lose All Your Money

After all what is an investor without funds in the brokerage account? Hint: BROKE!

On the subject of investing, this means getting out of a trade when it goes against you. Don't lose all your money. This is the MOST important thing any investor can do. Cut your losses before you're broke. It's easy to do, but some investors find it hard to implement. Don't become so attached to your buying decision that you ignore this advice.

Set a stop loss figure on every stock or investment you have. Decide on how much you are willing to lose before you buy. All brokerage accounts have a way to set a stop loss. You can do this right in your account so that it's triggered automatically.

Use an actual price or a percentage. Take the time to learn how to set up a stop loss order or trailing stop in your particular brokerage account. Or if you have the time and stick-with-it-ness to monitor your account on a regular basis (like all the time), keep track of where prices are mentally.

Here is an interesting chart that shows how much an investment has to go BACK up for you to get all your money out.

If the price per share goes down 10% - the stock has to go back up 11% for you to get back to even. Not convinced yet?

While at the website, the first thing I noticed was the very first sentence on the page. It looked a little unprofessional, which made me a little skepticle from the get go.

After scrolling through the page I was impressed by the ad copy, someone had done a really good job in the wording and the page layout. Anyways enough BS, sorry...

AFter reading the page, I exited out of it, thinking it was another scam. I didn't go back again until I had several friends recommending that I buy it. They had done a decent amount. They made their money back within a week. The program is selling for $50 and they made about $60 the first week.

This was good enough for me to buy, I figured what the heck, it offers a 60 day money back guarantee, what do I have to lose? So I tried the ultimate Wealth package, and I must say I was impressed by it. In the ad copy of the ultimate wealth package, they say can make your money back in under an hour. To me it's a little more reasonable to say you could make it back within a week, if you carbon copy his blueprint.

8.) Sub prime/Seller Carry Back: Again, this combination can provide money to the seller, rather than ask him to carry the whole thing. Once again tough to do right now.

9.) Create Your Own Mortgage: You become the bank.

Einstein's "RULE of 72" provides us with an easy formula to figure how long it takes to DOUBLE YOUR MONEY! As a rule of thumb, at 10% interest money will double every 7.2 years.

It doesn't matter if the investment can be a stock, a bond, a CD, and any other way of getting a return on your money. You don�t need a calculator and you can use this method to quickly calculate in your head how long it will take to double your money. All you need to do is divide 72 by the annual rate of return. The result would be approximately the number of years required for your investment to double in size.

EXAMPLE:

If you have $10,000 in a savings account at a bank, earning you 3.0%, divide 3.0% into 72. It will take 24.0 years to double your money.

Einstein once said, "If people understood the Rule of 72 they would never put their money in banks!�

If you have $10,000 invested in a mutual fund that returns 10% divide 10% into 72. Your money will double in 7.2 years. A much better return!

Doubling your money is a VERY important part of wealth accumulation. If your money is in the bank at 4%, how many doubles do you have left in your lifetime?

If you are 35 years old, with money earning a measly 4% in a bank and doubling only every 18 years, you only have ONE DOUBLE by age 60. If you figure that inflation averages 3% you're just above breaking even, and if you figure the income taxes you paid on the 4% growth, you are loosing money.

If you're 35 and your money is growing at 12%, you will have SIX DOUBLES by age 60!

If you're 50 and your money is growing at 12%, you have 1.6 DOUBLES LEFT by age 60!

What does this mean? It means you need to start investing your money as soon as you can. Today is a good time to begin.

Often we get a bad conscious thinking of money and we should not have these bad feelings since money is a natural and good thing.

One way to make money online is to become an affiliate on someone else's website. The more traffic a site generates, the more product is sold - and the easier it becomes for everyone to make money online. It's vital then for websites to have as many links to their site as possible, increasing their product's visibility, and you can make money online by simply having a link to their site on your site and receiving sales commissions. Your responsibility is simply to get as much traffic to your site as possible. This is perhaps the easiest way to make money online.

Another way to make money online is through e-commerce. If you have a product, make money online by selling it online. In order to make money online by selling a product, you must be able to deliver quickly. In the online world, you must be able to accept credit card payments through a secured site.

A money making web site is a virtual page hosted on web servers containing a specific group of information that people are looking for and willing to spend money on. Often people will create money making websites in order to generate income from the comfort of their own home. All money making websites have one thing in common, and that is to make money for their owners. The difference between a normal website and a money making website can be told by its appearance. Normally a website will not contain any ads or require any of your information. Money making websites, on the other hand, commonly requires that their visitors purchase a product or service and has advertisements that usually require personal details, such as name and email.

For money making websites, money is generated from product/service sales and advertisement revenues. But it totally depends on how the owner operates his or her money making website. Different products and services require different approaches. Some money making websites promote a product or service directly. Some money making websites collect their visitor�s details and slowly sell their product or service through email. Some money making websites provide information for free but generate money from advertisers.

Overall a money making website should look simple and plain. It should not contain too many fancy animations and/or graphics. It should be informative and easy to read. It shouldn�t have too many advertisements. It shouldn�t promote too many products.

What is your opinion about money? What did your parents or teachers tell you? Did you know that what you learned about money in your early years made an almost permanent impression on you? If your parents told you money was the root of all evil, then you are likely to continue to think that way. There are many other sayings you get from all your relatives. Money is dirty. Money makes you greedy. Money can�t buy you everything. Don�t talk about money, it is not discussed at the table or anywhere else. And the list goes on. You may have other sayings from your past. These all lead to the programming of your mind about money.

If two people have the exact same circumstances but one was brought up thinking about people with money as �filthy rich� and other thinking �money is the source of helping others�. The one with the good saying will actually do better in life.

You may wonder why that might be. Your mindset about money is likely going to be what your parents taught you. If your parents did not think much about the good of money only the bad parts � then you are more likely to think badly of money and when money comes your way, you find a way to dispose of it.

On the other hand, if you think of all the good money can bring, then you will find a way to make more. There is no limit on the amount of money available. People will always spend money especially the money they earn at their J.O.B.

Being aware and learning how to handle money is one of the basics you need before you can attract and earn more money. You will not be able to build your wealth without changing your conditioning about the evils of money.
